I seem to have the most success with IM when I write the intention down, then let it go. I think Shakti Gawain writes in her book 'Creative Visualisation' of a technique where you imagine your intention in a pink bubble, and watch it float off...
If I focus on something too specific for too long, it just doesn't feel right for me.
But the act of writing the intention down seems to be important - once it's on paper, it's out of the whirlwind of other thoughts in your mind, and the universe knows you mean business!
