Default A Compelling and Passionate Reason?

I'm new here. Don't even know if what I'm asking should even go here. Here goes...

James Ray says that you will begin to change your paradigm when you have compelling and passionate reason (I paraphrase). I'm a self employed individual and offer a service that most consider a luxury item. So, I have no compelling reason to do what I love to do other than it's what I've always wanted to do and I want to make a lot of money at it.

Is that a good enough reason to change my paradigm and become successful? Does there have to be some "higher purpose"?

Maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about

Brian
