To host yourself you would rent a portion of a server from a company specializing in doing hosting for clients. I host at
ServInt Internet Services - Managed Dedicated Server & VPS Provider it is more expensive and provides more resources than you need at the stage of development of your project.
I see several hosting providers mentioned on the forum including some who are members here. You should be able to find hosting for ten dollars or less per month. If your site grows and you need to upgrade to a more expensive and powerful server later the upgrade can be accomplished when needed.
