To be honest, I think it will help you to fast while working on a job that is demanding mentally and even physically. It will distract you from the psychological effects of not eating. If you have a job that will allow you to daydream you will be in danger of dreaming about food all day.
The energy will be there. Remember, your body is still getting fuel from dead tissue and fat. Your body will not be spending so much energy on digestion and you will get better rest from your sleep.
