"Equalize" comes from Julie Morgenstern's book
Organizing From the Inside Out. It's part of the SPACE acronym: Sort, Purge, Assign a home, Containerize, Equalize -- a system for intelligently organizing any physical space. Equalize is the maintenance part, putting everything away at the end of each day and restoring the place to a state of order.
