My advice is focus on being happy alone. Go out and date. Date a lot! But do it just for fun. Don't get too heavily involved with anyone, just ... have ... fun and expect that to be the extent of whatever it will be. That way you won't be disappointed if it doesn't work out (in fact, you'll probably be the one to break it off) but if it does, great! The minute you hit that magical mark, I bet you'll meet someone and think, "Crap, I didn't have enough time having fun with all these people!"

I agree that you have to get out there. I read a book and it said the concept that love will come to you like a knight to the princess is not reality. Your manly man will not just show up on your doorstep. You got to make opportunities. And the best way is like what Caat said! Do hobbies, join clubs, do things that make ~you~ happy and get you out there at the same time. Good luck!
