Default Question about voices during meditation

Hi everyone,

Recently while relaxing down into the meditative state, I've started to notice swatches of "voices" as I descend. The experience is very much like turning the dial of a radio: I get little bits and pieces of others' conversations, questions, pleas and musings, etc. Often only a sentence from each distinctive voice.

I'm aware of the difference between my imagination or "interior monologue" I use to talk to myself, and hearing from sound waves to my ears. This is different. I feel like I am "hearing" these voices, but not from sound to my ears.

I've only started to notice this, as I've been meditating for almost a year now.

My question is, has anyone else had a similar experience, and do you think I should put more effort into "tuning in" to these voices? Or is it simply a distraction on the way to a peaceful meditation?

Would love to hear your thoughts! (no pun intended) Thanks!
