The flickering lights may also be due to the increase of YOUR vibration, while the incadescent bulb's regular cycles remain unchanged. Much like video picks up television pictures all flickery, because the lines-of-resolution aren't on the same oscillation "refresh".
Cold in the room CAN indicate a nasty entity (energy vampire), so always bring good thoughts and guidance into your room.
Both malevolent AND benevolent entities vie for our attention. You point out the importance of developing a good communication with your guide spirits. If you take to heart what I said about dog whistles and untraviolet light, then you understand how higher-frequncy sentiences can assist us. There is no guarantee that less-than-amiable sentiences get into those realms...did you ever see a 2-year-old who DIDN'T get into the kitchen cabinets??...so developing discernment is important, too.

Yeah I do get in a hurry sometimes though I've realized it doesn't work that way and tends to be a slow process as an evolution of the soul. I believe you're spot on about the flickering lamp as well.
It's hard to keep the thoughts positive during chakra cleansing because thoughts and emotions go all over the place, but thanks for the info I had no idea it could be an energy vampire. I was actually kinda hoping that it is a spirit guide or of the sort. Another thing I get is "energy goosebumps" which tend to feel good or neutral. But, I have read that these entities tend to pretend of giving good vibes in order to establish a connection. So with that in mind it is hard to have discernment in such cases, because you don't really get a bad vibe whether it is indeed an energy vampire or not.
