this is the problem that I have. It's so hard to be positive.

You don't give yourself enough credit. You already know your problem and have stated it clearly. You BELIEVE that it's *hard to be positive* therefore IT IS *hard to be positive*. You make it so by believing it.
Truth is, positive or negative, they're just different sides of the same coin. It's just as easy - or hard - to be
one as it is to be
the other. It's dictated soley by the decision - the choice - you make within.
If you flip a coin 100 times but start off with the beleif that *it's hard to make it land on heads* then proceed without recording any of the results, what will you notice? Most likely,
the number of times you were right and it didn't land on heads. But if you do the same experiment
without choosing sides and you
record the results, what do you think they would be? A very negligible difference in heads vs. tails, would be my guess.
Positive/negative isn't about emotions or not wanting to get hurt again, or not wanting to feel hope. It doesn't have to be about any of that, which is very freeing. It is simply an intellectual
choice. It's choosing to see that it isn't about whether your coin lands on heads or tails but the fact that
you can even engage in the act of flipping the coin in the first place. The wonder and freedom and ability to do that,
regardless of the outcome.
