You get to choose how you handle it, your choice. Is hurting him really going to make you feel better? Will you suddenly be over it all if he suffers, no, what will happen is you'll end up dragging the pain out even longer.
As long as he has power over you, then you give up your power and he wins again. If you're really angry about it, go to gym and punch the crap out of a punching bag.
I'm not saying don't feel pain, pain is necessary, what I'm saying is
know when to say "I'm over this crap, it's not worth it" Then you can let the other good stuff start to flow.
