After a few days of writing my blog in the middle of last month the stats were steadily growing albeit with very VERY low numbers and then it really took off for about 5 days before dropping again and remaining fairly static for about a week.
Fairly early on I'd said that breaking 1000 hits for the month was what I was aiming for but as each day passed the average needed to break 1000 grew and it looked less and less likely.
Then I started doing a few things a little differently with about three days to go to see if I could catch up. The traffic then rose and then more than doubled on the final day to see me reach 1017 at the end of the period.
What has happened since then? The next day it dropped by roughly 65% and by a further 50% the day after.
That 1000 was always on my mind since the first few days and despite the blips it always remained and I willed it over the line.
Was this manifestation in action or just a coincidence?
Making me think about how I should target the figures for month two certainly.
