I haven't watched much tv at all this year, I feel as good as ever.
Something to think about is that you may not really *need* to watch the news everyday. Maybe once a week, once a month to catch up on things?
But who says you have to do it everyday? Who says there's something newsworthy happening everyday?
It's laughable.
TV execs probably think you need to watch everyday, but who cares what they think.
If you replaced a half hour of news daily, with a half hour a month (recap), you'd save yourself, 29 days x 30 minutes....you'd save yourself 14.5 hours a month!
People need to relax, a little tv isn't harmful.
But it can become harmful, day after day after day. If you're watching something you could care less about, and you could be spending that time on something much more productive.
Instead of tv, I like browsing ebay, listening to audio courses (marketing guru Jay Abraham, I'm a big fan of his), collecting toys/sports cards I had as a kid and lots of other things. Or just relaxing on my deck, looking at the stars and city life.
