Same here, and I hate it when my girlfriend has it on... Why on earth do I need to know how many people have been murdered, which houses have burned down, and what new awful medical conditions are plaguing the country on any given day? This referring to just local news, "national" news, usually concerning which celebrity is dating which/in jail now along with a "terror alert update" is even more of a joke.
