Jason, I stumbled your article (actually, I stumbled it twice, since the first time was accidentally with my wife's SU account) because I think you have some good ideas there.
If you want that post to stand a better chance of picking up SU steam, here are the changes I'd make:
1) A snappier title that communicates the benefit a reader can expect from reading the article.
2) Keep your first paragraph short (CopyBlogger recommends no more than 2 sentences) and once again, keep it focused on the reader's benefit for investing time enough to read the article.
