I gave up TV news 30 YEARS ago, and haven't looked back. It's all mindless drivel, and seldom correct in described the events.

I occasionally look at an internet news item if it looks interesting. They generally have a little human interest aspect, but again I don't count on the accuracy of any "news" item.

You're right, it does make it difficult to converse with boring people who live their lives in front of the tube. I talk about what I've done, they talk about what they've seen.

I prefer my life.
