Default

I saw a home video of myself once that was taken when I was 17 years old. At the time, I was fresh out of being raised in a small town in upstate New York.

Now, 20 years later, I see this video and it makes me cringe. My dialect used to be so horrific, I just sounded - for lack of a better term - stupid.

The point I'm making is that I never did anything "official" to clean up my vocabulary except making a conscious effort to speak properly. Slowing down my talking speed, enunciating words properly, and just generally paying attention to what was coming out of my mouth have been my secrets to success.

Now, I am no tried and true public speaker or anything like that, and a program like the one you mentioned is probably very useful. However, I just wanted to point out that improving something as personal as your vocabulary might not entail a full-blown training program.

I would say it depends on why you have that goal, and what you plan to do with an improved set of speaking skills.
