The sun rises in the morning light,
Its warmth lost in the winter's chill.
The white sorrounding of the snow
Reflects the brightness with nature's skill.
It's a day's fresh start: a mirror of life.
I
slash through my closet in a thrill,
Trying on the sharpest clothes I've got,
Making sure that I am dressed to kill.
The way she look into my eyes
Sends shivers up and down my spine.
Mistakes of the past will be cast aside,
And with her do I seek to wine and dine.
It sounds so corny, yes I know.
But for God's sake, she's so divine!
Okay, yeah, she's just a girl;
But holy damn, is she ever fine.
Tea or coffee, wine or beer;
I'll find out which ones she holds dear.
We'll march together to new frontiers
And face life's hardships with a cheer.
Though this is a fantasy in my mind,
Please remember that I'm not fully blind.
Sad experience seeks to remind
That fate may turn out to be unkind.
That aside, I am not resigned
To negativity and happiness undefined.
I'll seize the day and surely find
Her smile to which I am now aligned.
Lol.
