Great thread Trina!

From my experience, and from what I see around me, I believe that our bodies are the physical manifestation of our emotional, mental and energetic selves.

If you want to change your body, you need to change the emotional, mental and energetic issues and patterns that have created that body in the first place.

It's not as simply as just dieting and exercising - because if you don't address these underlying issues, nothing will change.

To change your body, first you have to really WANT to. And although we don't often think of it this way, many of us have reasons why we manifest heavy... it serves a purpose. Whether that purpose is protection from unwanted attention... or whatever.

So honesty is key.

Why are you the size you are? How does it serve you? Do you really want to lose weight? What resistance and fears come up with you think about losing weight? What must you first face to lose the weight?

Because we can not change our physical bodies without changing our emotional, mental and energetic selves too, and this can be a scary transformation, but ultimately a beautiful one.

As a personal example, I was once bottom-heavy... with low body fat. No amount of diet or exercise shifted the excess weight on my butt and thighs. Some might have just said 'genes'... but I dug deeper.

And in the process discovered that my emotional coping techniques of denying all feeling had resulted in literally stuffing it down into my hips and thighs. Since working with these issues, I have completely changed the shape of my body.

This is an area I am hugely interested in, and am regularly posting about on my blog, if you want to read more.

Remember too - that it's so important not to subscribe to external standards of beauty, but to understand that each of us has our own optimum, healthy body shape and size.

Much joy,
KL
