Wow Erin,
I always get the warm fuzzies readings your blogs and interviews. Your developmental experiences have followed a similar track to my own and I'm in total agreement with what you've said.
"I totally discourage people from becoming psychic junkies, however. If you can’t make a move without consulting your psychic you should stop seeing the psychic and get in touch with your personal power."
I have to say a big 'YES' to that comment. Rather than giving your power away, you should come away from a reading feeling uplifted and more empowered. A good reading should ignite the ‘force within you.’ There are a few people who aren't yet ready to accept responsibility for their own lives and it’s detrimental to them to foster any form of dependency. I see a reader as a guide, shining a light on the terrain, identifying obstacles and giving people more insight into situations so they can make better choices.
Erin you said, “Steve began having a lot of psychic experiences after he met me.” I found when I opened up fully and raised my vibrational frequency; it had the flow on effect of opening up my partner and children to varying degrees. During the winter when the kids were younger and had hectic sports schedules, I’d set up the massage table in the living room. My step children, kids and friends would queue up for Reiki and Holistic Pulsing (kids love HP). As soon as I started working, the kids would quiet right down. The room would fill up with energy and after awhile the kids started seeing auras, energy and guides. It was these experiences and clients spontaneously seeing auras etc that compelled me to start teaching psychic development.
