An abundance mentality, in my view, includes a number of very important kinds of abundances:
1. Abundance of choice. One of the first real breakthroughs for most people getting into PD is that they have a choice. They have a choice between the life they're currently living and a conscious life. You always have choices, even if the options to choose from aren't very good. No one is forcing you to go to that job, you choose to because you don't like the alternative (assume its starving, for now).
2. Abundance of opportunity. Realizing that we do live in a world of abundance, in practical terms. There is so much money out there and so many opportunities out there, we just have to step up and access them. Maybe we'll need to go back to school, maybe take some public speaking courses, maybe get new certifications, maybe just be bold and start to suggest improvements in our current work place to access them. And here, again, you have choices in those opportunities.
3. Abundance of your ability to access that opportunity. This is perhaps the most imporant part of the mentality. This is where you realize that you'll be ok no matter what. And that you deserve nice things, experiences and relationships, and are worthy of them.
One of the key things, for me, in building an abundance mentality is going from avoidance-from thinking to going-towards thinking. Instead of thinking, I don't want debt, thinking I want x amount of money in the bank account, or i want financial abundance. Instead of thinking, i don't want to fail this assignment, to thinking, I want to get a really good grade. This glass half-full view to life is really helpful in having an abundance mentality. And being grateful and appreciative of waht we all have, are and have to ability to achieve.
