I had been thinking about getting a new wide screen flat panel monitor for my computer at home for quote a while. I had a hard time justifying that to myself though since I already had a perfectly good monitor although it was a bit old and bulky.
Well, we had this monthly contest at work for a $250 gift certificate to anywhere I wanted. I have never won any contests like this at work but I told myself that if I won that gift certificate I would use it to buy my new monitor. I also figured what do I have to loose anyway. I continued to think about the monitor and the contest in a positive way but didn't put too much effort into it. I also knew I would not be totally crushed if I did not win.
I was thrilled when my name was drawn right in front of me for the gift certificate. I am now participating in these forums looking at my new monitor!
