How often do we prioritize our own work? We often handle our own simple requests quite quickly due to their ease.
If your teacher/boss assigns you a big task that takes you a week to work out, but if they send you an email requesting assistance on a matter that will take you 10 minutes; are you going to wait until task 1 is done or while in a lull get task 2 over and done with?
I agree with the nice thing about this being that all you have to do is ask. It is stated that if it is not beneficial or for you the request won't be given. So if it isn't working for you, you may want to look at what you are asking for and redefine it to something you are more in tune with(same as some LOA techniques). To me if you expect something not to happen it is based on your belief it is unrealistic. Many of already know the likelihood of getting getting yes for an answer is increased for things that feel more achievable, even if it is difficult. It is why we ask for help after all.[/QUOTE]
Thanks for your honest comment. I agree with what you are saying. My request was out of the realm of my own reality to actually happen. However, since my last post, opportunities that will help me to resolve my issue are showing up. While it didn't happen in 24 hours, it is starting in a manner that seems realistic to me.
