Concentrated, it's a secret we in South Carolina would like to keep
We spend at least one week every year on one of the islands. This year, we have a house rented on Edisto Island from June 29th to July 6th. This is how the week usually goes: Friday, arrive and unpack, walk on the beach, hit the grocery store, ride bikes (the whole island is flat, you can ride all over), lay in the sun listening to music, buy some fresh shrimp right off the boat and fix up a low-country boil, walk on the beach as the sun goes down, sleep like a log.
Daily until the following Thursday, repeat the above, with the exception of unpacking. Each and every day goes like this. Charleston, South Carolina is 45 minutes away, so every year, one day out of the week we drive into Charleston to shop, sight-see, meet up with some cousins of mine and have dinner.
When we can schedule it, we like to rent a house on the island for Thanksgiving as well. It's a whole different place in the winter, but beautiful still.
