I feel that collectively as people we have reached a point where technology is no longer distracting people to the extent it used to from their true selves. It has sort of lost it's new feeling to it so to speak, at least for me. To top that off, I think people are getting a keen sense that the world is getting seriously too overpopulated. There's a collective undercurrent of panic that's causing people to shift out of complacency and feel as though it is "now or never". Have we reached this point before in history for other reasons? Yes, but here we are again. It's one big loop with the only thing changing being the cause of our shift.

Also i see money as falling on many people's list as the #1 priority. With people losing fortunes overnight people are starting to realize that maybe chasing after money at the expense of all else is like a dog chasing its tail. Priorities are being rewritten and people across the world aren't putting up with crap anymore.
