I tried becoming an early riser, but it just didn't work. The night owl in me would always awaken at 10-11 pm and I was never able to get to bed early enough. It also doesn't help that I'm in my early 20's and share and apartment with 2 other guys my age who keep pretty late schedules.
In the end I think it's all personal preference. I may convert to early riser as I get older, but at this point using the night as a time to be productive is working well.
