NIght terrors and nightmares are different. With nightmares we recall what we dreamed but with night terrors although one may look awake is still actually asleep and the memory of the dream can not be so easily retrieved. With night terrors there is sweating hence the chills of shaking. Night terrors can be triggered by illness or more typically an infection even being too hot. Try sleeping with a fan on low and lowering the temperature in your room.
