I've had recurring dreams about the end of the world for maybe years - well, different dream, same theme. I remember one time (long, long ago) I saw the earth as if from outer space and it was being eclipsed by a shadow-like black thing. In that same dream, I also remember I was running away (don't remember if on foot or on a vehicle) from that shadow-like thing covering the earth. I woke up before that dream finished. I was freaked.

Another time (the most recent, I think), there was supposed to be a meteor that was going to hit the earth. I was panicking because in the dream it was the day that was going to happen, and I didn't have time - I wanted to do a lot of things with my life, and now I'm reduced to worrying about ending up a casualty. I don't really remember what exactly I was doing but I remember driving around in a car (I think a convertible, and I seem to recall there were other people with me too). I don't think I was running away from the meteor or something (logic: where do you run away to in a car anyway?), but there was a general feeling of helplessness. I remember there was also a view from outer space, and I saw the meteor, but it was traveling slowly. It didn't hit the earth in a violent way with all the explosions, though. It was glacial and I remember seeing it "cheek-to-cheek" with the earth. I think it looked like it brushed the earth lightly, but somehow there was still the feeling that it wasn't over. I'm not sure, but I think I was thinking the end of the world was going to happen, and maybe that meteor wasn't it and there was a next one, or something weird/magical was going to happen and that meteor would end up destroying the earth anyway. Woke up before it finished. Was freaked as much as any other time.

I don't remember if there were cars involved in the other dreams I forgot, though.
