The interesting thing is that books like "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and "The 48 Laws of Power" teach most of the same stuff.
The first will say "be genuine" and the latter will say "seem genuine". To the outside world, the effects may be appear to be the same. But those effects will feel different inside based on whatever personal choice you made, to actually be genuine, or to seem genuine enough to get what you want.
I don't consider myself a darkworker but I like learning from books like "The 48 Laws of Power" because it just seems more REAL. Just pure facts, knowledge, and human phycology. Deep down, it's up to me to decide how I use the information, so I'd rather just take the information in it's rawest form, even if it does seem harsh. I'm not afraid of the truth.
The books will teach me, but they will not change my core. I think a lot of authors waste time by trying to tell me how to use the knowledge they are giving me. Save your breath.
I look forward to checking out the books that everyone recommends.
