Scott, first let me say that I greatly enjoy your blog, as do many others. You've probably noticed me hanging around there lately. So for starters, thanks for the great content.
Secondly, let me just say that I am also *not* an expert on sales. I have a complex background that involves radio, voice-over work, computer programming, data architecture, and public speaking -- but alas, no sales. So, in other words, take my opinion here for what it's worth.
Looking at your page, here are my thoughts:
1) I love the way you've done the "sample" booklet: the "Grayed out" table of contents shows readers of your sample book what they can expect if they buy the full version -- that's clever marketing.
2) I also like the way that you have the "Buy it now" buttons spaced at several places on the page -- a technique I've read about on CopyBlogger and other sites of its nature.
3) Scott, I'm sure you'll sell plenty of copies of this eBook because you have people who trust and respect you -- so you're name is golden.
Okay, so now I'll try to actually give you something helpful:
1) Although I loved the cover of the eBook when I viewed the sample version in IE, the 3D picture of the book on your landing page could maybe use a little more pop. Maybe because it's all white on a white background? Maybe it would look more enticing if it stood out more? (As I said, I'm no expert, so take that for what it's worth).
2) I just finished reading some cool tips on landing pages over at CopyBlogger, and they suggest that you should minimize exit points from your page to only those that are absolutely essential to make the sale. A user might click on one of the links that leads back to your blog, at which point you might have lost them. (the flip side is that your blog is a direct link to your credibility -- if you do an experiment with and without extraneous links, I'd be interested in reading the results.)
