As Erin said, it is very different from hypnosis.
I've used 'Time Line' therapy (a form of hypnosis) with clients who are caught in a mental loop (repeat patterning or trapped on an issue) or have acute illnesses that I seen a recovery from. With 'Time Line' therapy I can take them into their own future as observers and they can see for themselves what I've tried to show them.
Sckeptism is healthy when it's accompanied by an open mind.
I've only had three people in 12 yrs of doing readings, that I haven't been able to read for. The first was a young lady whose friends had insisted she come to me. She was scared and closed. I couldn't get anything and don't think I was meant to. People have to come of their own volition.
The second was a healer who was working at the same fair as me. I'd walked past her on a break and seen the energy around her. It was clear and beautiful so I was thrilled when she sat in front of me, but I got nothing. After trying for several minutes I apologized. She said no-one had ever been able to read for her. Her guides had told her that she had not trusted her ability in the past and sort constant confirmation from other people. This time around it was her and them. Then she laughed and said her friends used to her to check out which of the readers were real. By the end of the day I'd seen all the other healers from her group.
The last one really tickled me.
He was a Chinese guy and came with an interpreter the first time. When I couldn't get anything he launched into a full on attack of western psychics all being fraudulent (in clear English). He got up to leave and said he was fully trained astrologer/palm reader and asked to see my hand. He examined it in depth and asked if he could take a print of it, then insisted on paying me.
A few months later he came back again. I didn't get anything again. He chatted for awhile, asked my date and time of birth, paid me again and left. I thought 'how odd.'
Months went past and I'd forgotten about it when he turned up again. He said he'd checked my palm and his and my date of birth with his master when he'd gone home for a visit. Our palms match, astrology charts stack up and we were soul mates. He'd come to ask my hand in marriage.
Boy, I wish I'd seen that coming. How romantic!!
Fortunately my partner arrived home and I introduced them and graciously declined.
