It's not at all like being hypnotized. For example, during a reading if I tell you that I am in communication with your dead aunt sylvia who died in a car accident at age 37 and left behind a son and a daugther, etc then does it really matter what state YOU'RE in if I'm right about all of that?
Now if I say, "You'll be switching jobs soon. You're having relationship issues. You're feeling a little depressed about something" then I'm full of it. Too vague, could mean anything.
When I do a reading you will know if I am tuned in or not. It will be more specific and be totally relevant to your personal situation.
Now one time I read for this really skeptical guy. I told him 8 things about himself that I couldn't possibly know like what he was majoring in in college, the fact that he was cheating on his girlfriend, some information about his fraternity, some information about what his father wanted for him in life, his position in the sibling order, etc. And he said, 'Yeah, but I already knew that. Tell me the name of one of my dead relatives and then I'll believe you're really psychic." Some people just don't get it. Here he got all this validation and some wise words from his guides but his skepticism kept him from benefitting from it.
So in that respect, skepticism can make a reading less valuable. |
