zfraile, I can relate to what you're going through. I gave a year of my life going all out to help people, contributing as much as I could to make someone else's life better, but financially it didn't come back to me.
Times were tough, but I had to move on.
Do I recognize there were benefits? Sure. My friends keep telling me how much they've seen me grow, and how I wouldn't be the same person now if I didn't had that experience.
Does it make it easier? Sometimes
zfraile, all I can say is; keep going. The famous character for perserverance in Mandarin is the character of the knife above the character of the heart; the heart must keep going despite all trials.
