Cloud City
Cloud City soars the heavens
Its world engines keeping
the titan afloat.
It's citizens watch is uneasy reproach as
ground dwellers soar higher,
in flying machines so ungracefully swerving,
arching and climbing.
Man was not meant to fly they say
but this City was.
The clouds are so epic that it looks like
a sea of endless white.
Flowing into the horizon and beyond.
What secrets lie on the ground?
Cloud city will never know.
Spirits fly upon the bed of white as though at play
with each other.
Birds ride the thermals in search of a place to land.
But where cloud City goes there is no land.
From the weightless blanket of the no-colour white soars a shining star.
No.
A missile.
It roars to Cloud City in infinite silence
and as it hits a dream is shattered and time stands still.
Eternity passes in a finite moment.
No breath is drawn.
No sigh is given.
So ends a dream
A giant of a city falls to the ground and it's doomed citizens see the Earth.
They see the war, they see the strife.
And in their last seconds of living.
They long for the sky.

The smile of sweet sorrow,
the fire-blazing fury of calm eyes,
the love of two enemies.
That is truth.
That look of madness in the sanest eyes,
The flightless wings, of a bird in the sky.
The joy of death,
The sorrow of birth.
...and that is truth...

I see your mind,
In abstract fear,
Wicked flames
of angry youth.
Unsure of the things,
you thought you knew.
Wordless thoughts,
and mindless chatter.
Intelligence is a candle
in the dark.
Consumed.
Outmatched,
Out numbered.
Silent scream,
of ten thousand men.
A vision, planted in your brain.
It Still remains.
Unheard. Unseen.
People listening
people seeing.
Echoes
Echoes of a life
once lived
now dead.
Your life.
Once lived.
