I have always had them. I don't know how to explain it. I can't rememeber not having them with me. When I was very young I talk to them out loud. The one with me the longest is female, I started calling her Angela when I was in kindergarten, but that was just a name I gave her. I have a lot of animal spirits, though, I don't know why. Almost all of my guides are animals. Other than Angela and the animal spirits (crow, otter, fox, bear), there is an ageless being that has appeared as either gender. I usually just sit with that one, and when I do I see myself as I was when I was 3 years old. Weird.
