It's probably because your mind is a little fuzzy so you don't think about things so much, you just take everything as it comes. To replicate this minus the sleep deprivation, I would say just stop overthinking everything. Live in the moment rather than the past or the future. I am trying to do just that. It's not easy, but the rewards are great.
As for if it's a scientific condition, I have never heard anything 'official', but I have experienced the same thing.
