It sure sounds like a good idea to try to go to sleep earlier.
I have a similar problem actually. I really want to become an early riser, but I just can't seem to fall asleep early. As far as I can remember, I've always had the problem of laying on my bed for at LEAST ½-1 hour untill I fall asleep.
When I go to bed earlier (and I feel tired) I can't fall asleep until 11pm-01am.
