On the concept of "working on it".
I can see how someone might intellectually understand the idea of focusing on the Now, but still have no idea of how to do it, primarily because there is no reference point. How can you focus on something when you don't know how it's supposed to feel?
That is where other spiritual practices come in, such as meditation, or chanting. These activities give you the opportunity to practice letting go of thoughts so you can experience the stillness. Once you have experienced it, then it is easier to go there at other times. |
