dulaney, Those scars are a testament to the powerful person you are. If you do want them gone, I would say try some of the suggestions people here have given, but they could be points of conversation, helping others to relate and know you went through what they are going through. It may just help them have the courage to open up to you. Maybe you had to go down the path that left you with these scars to be able to help others. Just my thoughts. I hope you are able to find a cost effective way to remove them if you really want to. Have you tried any of those otc products like Mederma?
