I totally believe in the LoA, good and bad. It has and continues to work for me so much that now I keep a journal of everything positive and negative I attract (just to keep myself in alignment). But I just have a quick story here. Take it as you wish.
My brother met his wife while in the Navy at a port in South Africa. Our family (as much as I hate to admit) was pretty oblivious and naive to how bad things were over in her country. She told us horror stories of friends being gunned down while driving to school... robberies.. etc. Her biggest fear was that someday, something awful-- like being raped, attacked, or killed would in fact, happen to her. Then my brother proposed, and she and my brother moved to the states, to Gainesville, FL.
Super Bowl Sunday, my brother went to a party, and she stayed behind to study for a class she was taking. She took a shower, walked out of the bathroom, and noticed a window that was opened slightly. After closing it, she turned around to find a man standing with a black mask on and holding a tire iron. That man brutally beat her, raped her, and beat her some more until she was unconscious. Bite marks covered her whole body. He left when he thought he had killed her. But she didn't die.
This obviously is a horrible story and has been one we all have tried to move past. Thankfully we all (including her) pretty much have. But my point is, the ONE thing she was MOST afraid of, that she had given SOO SOO much thought and attention towards.... came rushing right into her life in the heart of suburbian Gainesville, FL in an neighborhood virtually free of violence or crime.
So as some of you guys said earlier, I believe you cannot praise all the good things that are attracted by the LoA and completely ignore the bad, saying, "The LoA doesn't work! I would never want this and it's a bunch of B.S!!"
I would never say that she (or the little girl) "asked for" this, I would simply say that she "gave energy to" this sort of event and that energy was delivered accordingly.
And while this little girl of course would never mean to attract rape and death into her life...maybe it was the influence of her parents worst fears.. or society's... what have you... that unfortunately brought it to life for her. Just a thought... not saying it's right or wrong. It's just a thought.
Obviously I can't ever totally explain such an event and I wouldn't claim to have all the answers. But maybe there is more to the story and we are just now on a more wide scale starting to scratch the surface of this sort of "enlightenment." I'm reading, "The Intention Experiment" at the moment. Thoughts are much more powerful than we might have once thought. lol
