Congrats! Best of luck in your stand-up career... ;-)
I did a course in stand-up comedy once, with a gig at the end in front of 250 people. It was the scariest experience of my life, but one of the most fulfilling and rewarding too, as I'm sure Andrew will vouch for. As a personal development experience, I learned so much about myself, improved my confidence, my public speaking ability, met all sorts of interesting people, improved my writing ability (due to joke writing); the list goes on. Much like in Fight Club, after doing a stand-up gig, the volume on the rest of your life is turned down. Giving a presentation in class is nothing on the fear-scale now!
I recommend it to anyone if you fancy a challenge, and a great personal growth experience. Andrew, keep us informed of how you get on! |
