I have exactly the same symptoms as you do.
It seems like no matter what effort I put in to move or wake up in that moment I can't. Only after some time I am able to.
A few times I was able to reproduce this by falling asleep immediately after one of this things.
Sometimes the noise is so loud that it's kind of scary.
