Mine too.
The Internet is a wonderful tool for many things, but it became a crutch for me early on. I didn't socialize with people face-to-face. I didn't have the courage to make actual friends, so I latched onto the Internet in a big way because it was safe. It wasn't even a matter of "you can be anyone here." It was more like, I could be the person I would be in my "analog" life...
if I only had da noive.
A couple years ago I let Facebook suck me back into social connections I'd left behind 15 years ago. All these people who'd been living without me, and I without them, and now suddenly we're "friends" again.
I felt guilty because I had disappeared on less-than-pleasant terms with so many of them (there was a their-crappy-band vs. my-crappier-band feud). Some part of me wanted them to know I was different now. Humble, apologetic, meek.
Yeah, I know. Pathetic. I guess I have a chance now to say "goodbye" on good terms, though. That's going to feel good.
