I use the Unix utility calendar on my Debian system. I believe Mac OS X has a GUI analogue called Reminder (I think).

I also have the CountdownClock extension for Firefox whenever I want to timebox or otherwise time myself.

Otherwise, I just use plain old pen and paper lists. B-)
