I think it's mostly due to the combo effect of diet and sleep ( probably exercise too) . When i was on bad diet(refined sugar, deep fried food, burned food, fake food and etc), a single late night sleep triggered the inflammation (gum). Right now, it's not so much of a problem when i happen to sleep late. I have been freed of gum inflammation for nearly 6 months and i have to thank internet and google for that .
