The typical grocery store selling cat meat could represent something or someone that is typical only on the surface ( i.e. a typical family, typical family relations etc.- because you were in the store with your mother), while you obviosly feel there is something peculiar or strange underneath- when you point this out to your mother she slaps you- this may mean that she doesn't want to see that there is something going on.
In order to be able to give a better interpretation it's important to take into consideration your present situation- is there anything that is particulalrly bothering you, are there any major changes going on in your life etc.
The fact that our mother was in your dream does not necessarily mean that the dream relates specifically to her- she may symbolize someone who you're close with ( another family member, a close friend).. It's important to rmember how you felt in the dream- were you scared , surprised, worried, happy, sad while you were in the store ?
