Men are clueless because they are not able to perceive other people's emotions. As a matter of fact, most men are barely able to perceive their own emotions. They do not read minds and so they do not know the ways a woman will feel insecure and therefore jealous.
By the same token, women do not read minds and are not aware of how insecure most men are.
