The Maya calendar takes on the form x.x.x.x.x. Today's date, for example, is 12.19.14.6.2. Tomorrow's date is 12.19.14.6.3. From left to right, the base of the digits is 13, 20, 20, 18, and 20. So if today is 12.19.14.17.19, then tomorrow would be 12.19.15.0.0. A Gregorian date in December 2012 corresponds to 12.19.19.17.19 -- the following day all digits will reset to 0, i.e. 0.0.0.0.0.
(Some sources say this is December 21 2012, I think, but the Gregorian to Maya conversion is not precisely known; there are two possible conversions, which are two days apart, but we don't know which is correct due to lack of historical evidence.)
| Great info on how the Maya Calendar works. That really cleared up for me why people thought the world would end in 2012, i didn't really understand what evidence they were using for that.
Thanks for the info
