Certainly there are things that will discourage out of body experiences. One of them is deep sleep. That can be helped along by a lot of physical exertion and plenty of food in the day, but not eating a large meal too late in the evening as that can disturb deep sleep.
Alcohol can encourage a deep sleep too (far be it from me to suggest something so bad and non-PC as that!! ha ha)....but a glass of wine or something like a shot of brandy about an hour before bed can help. Obviously not taken to the extent of addiction problems!
A hot drink before sleep will help deep sleep too, being very tired, physically well-exercised, with lots of "earthing" kind of food will all help.
