Thats really interesting. Can you give some specific examples
Indeed: Work and relationships. I vision the sort of lover that I wish and then lo and behold I meet her. She substantially meets my criteria in the ways outlined yet, I realize that I am not satisfied. That genuinely I seek further qualities.

Yet I find it very hard to move beyond what is a great relationship in many ways. Not only am I fearful that nothing better will turn up, I do not wish to hurt my partner and so on.

Another example is to seek a new job. Again you set up your criteria and then along comes a job which meets those criteria maybe 4/5ths. You need money, you hate the job search process, you want to get back to your usual routines whatever they may be, and so on. So you take the job.

The great danger here is that in doing this you then come to operate in a less than optimal state. You are functioning on a perhaps pleasant but fundamentally dissastifying life-support system. Whats more you hamstring yourself for further 'intending' because you're not standing in the place of clear truth. And thats where all the energy comes from. For me, at least, the best 'Attracting' is done when there is a clear and empty space waiting to be filled. 7/8ths fill that space and accept that, and you compromise your energy greatly.

Take what Ashashic Librarian says. Precisely the variety of perspectives he offers. All of which are true but too open to be effective for me. By this I mean that in the process of 'clarifying' (which goes hand in hand with developing) one's thoughts/self you need to drop such notions as, 'maybe the universe is giving me exactly what I want', and simply ask am I happy with this?

If the answer is not an unequivocal, yes, then the doubt that exists is robbing you of energy. And effective LOA (in my case) needs to be full of energy and passion. Of course, you or the situation may change but then again you are seeking unequivocal yeses or noes to move forward with. Certainly you learn as you go but it must be on the basis of strong 'yeses'

The feeling analogy for me is the furnace: when the flue is adjusted right and there is the correct flow of air then the furnace burns clean and strong.
Our integrity and discipline with the intention process affects the flow of energy in the intention process like the flue affects the air.

The question remains, how to develop and grow one's clarity and discipline in the intention process? Which, for some of us at least, is also involved with the struggle to grow as a person.

Two answers have emerged since I began this thread. One: stay in the place of good feeling emotion as this is the place of flow. And how to do that more skillfully I have been investigating. There's some good suggestions in the Abraham material. Indeed Hicks emphasizes this above all. I think its correct. (I'm no pollyanna and don't see it being this)

The other is to acknowledge that you need to put yourself on the line with your desires. I have thought before that most pain comes from lack of courage. That is identifying what you wish and then settling for something else for lack of courage/faith is only going to block up the furnace and cause pain.

And torlink: You're absolutely right about using results as feedback for further refinement of desires. I need to work more in this way. Again its a matter of keeping your eye on the ball and being willing to adjust your compass as you go: either give up un-realistic aims as AL suggests/implies or take radical action to re-set your course. Easier said than done.

This post here by Coronet titled, 'All You Have to Do... is totally on the money in my view. Trust and faith. The more you have the more you get. Damn thats a big ask!

Thanks for reading and responding all. Further comments, views, suggestions, experiences - for/against - most welcome.
