I've found it a lot easier to change the way in which I view my parents feedback than it is to get them to change the way in which they offer feedback. The first perspective, albeit still hard at times, empowers me. The second one is riddled with resistance, frustration, and conflict.

I would focus my energy on transforming myself rather than resisting his communication style if I were you.
